Well, the tourism sector within South Africa has been booming.

Here’s why…

Over 10 million international tourists came to visit our beautiful country last year.

This is outstanding news for the Department of Tourism, since it is 13% more than we had in 2015!

This is well over the global average growth rate for 2016.

It is estimated that about 1.2 billion international tourists travelled the world last year, “representing a growth of 3.9% in 2015,” said the department.

South Africa is the ultimate tourist attraction, due to scenery, culture and history that leaves most breathless.

Tourism Minister, Derek Hanekom advised all people working hard in the private and public sector, to develop and promote tourism and to provide tourists with excellent service and memorable experiences.

The growth in our international arrivals indicates that this wonderful country is a worthwhile experience and acknowledged for all it has to offer.

Our local people have done a fantastic job to make South Africa a value-for-money destination.

Hanekom said the robust performance of the tourist sector indicates its resilience and its enduring capacity to provide new jobs.
