Thapelo Mokoena is no stranger to our TV screens.

He won the hearts of many South Africans with his role in the torrid love affair with Karabo on Generations.

Now, fans can expect to be blown away with his new leading role on a new E.tv telenovela called ‘Broken Vows’.

The telenovela will make it’s debut on Monday, 10 April 8 pm. Mokoena assured fans that they will not be disappointed when the show hits the screens.

Mokoena will play Uhuru, who is an investigative journalist from DRC and has returned back home in pursuit for the truth.

He added that Uhuru was dedicated to his work and was driven to expose blood diamonds trading and corrupt government officials across Africa.

“It’s new beginnings for me. One of the most beautiful things about what I do as an actor is that you are not at the same place all the time. When you get a new script it means you are getting into a new world, character, rhythm, co-stars, production company and channel.” said Mokoena.

Revealing Uhuru’s character, Mokena said “a great character was presented to me and I just liked him”. Uhuru is just an everyday man who is out to reveal the truth. He is not about sex. Yes, he might come across as a bit of a symbol but that is not his intention.”
