If there is one fashion item Millennials and Gen Zs have been obsessed with, it has to be white sneakers.

All shoe lovers know that wearing white sneakers tends to get a little stressful because you do not want to get them dirty. That is unavoidable though because life happens and before you know it, your favourite white pair of kicks will lose their ’sparkle’.

Whether it is during a night out and someone steps on them or you are out on a walk and it suddenly starts raining, they will not stay perfect forever.

Luckily a health and fitness blogger has shared her simple hack to help you bring life back into your white sneakers.

New Zealand based Simone Anderson (30), shared an Instagram video showing how she gets her sneakers looking brand new after spilling coffee on them.

“I spilt coffee on my shoes and another pair was dusty from a hike, so I thought it was the perfect time to do a wash of my trainers,”Anderson captioned the Instagram video.

“All you need is three simple ingredients: washing powder, a cap-full of NapiSan [Vanish stain remover] and a cap-full of bleach,” she wrote.

The 30-year-old said those three cleansers should be put in the dispenser inside the washing machine, then put the sneakers inside and set the machine to a cold wash, to avoid shrinking the shoes.

Once the sneakers are out of the washing machine, Anderson said all you need to do is air dry them. It is not recommended that you tumble dry the shoes as that will destroy or change their shape.

After letting them air dry, Anderson guarantees your sneakers will be as good as new.

People that saw the hack were left impressed but others had questions.

One user asked, “Ok I’m lost, how does the bleach not take the black off the tick?” To which Anderson responded, “It’s only the smallest diluted amount that won’t fade any colours.”

Another user added: “This is good to know, I’ve always been so worried about trying it. This is going to change my life for my whites washing forever! You are the best, thanks for sharing!”
