Travis Scott is offering students scholarships as part of his new foundation.
The ‘Astroworld’ singer has set up The Cactus Jack Foundation to give back to the local community, whilst he has also set up the Waymon Webster Scholarship, which he has named after his grandad.
Speaking about why he decided to set up the foundation, he told TMZ: “My grandfather wanted me to take it all the way through college, I feel there is a power in education so to be able to give someone the opportunity to fulfil that dream as my papa thought for me is amazing.”
The scholarship will be offered to those already at or going to historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs), including Morehouse College, Howard University, Texas Southern University, Grambling State University, his mother’s university, and Prairie View A&M University, where his grandad studied.
The lucky ones will be handpicked by Travis and he will offer financial support to students for their tuition fees as well as help those who are struggling amidst the coronavirus pandemic.
Meanwhile, Travis – who has two-year-old daughter Stormi Webster with his former partner Kylie Jenner – previously vowed to help instigate societal change “in any way”.

He said: “That means we got a voice to try to make change. People are listening, you know what I mean? And we want to try to make sure they understand that I’m a tool. Allow me to help in any way. Let me know where we got to go show up. It’s a big picture.
“It’s like a lot of groundwork we got to do. You’re trying to get to a point where people are finally seeing the oppression that’s been happening and overlooked, and that we, as a culture, have been fighting through every day. I mean, look how many leaders we have in the Black community.”
